How UGC pricing works
Six lines on every good rate card.
Brands buy UGC as a bundle of rights and deliverables. Pricing each part separately is how you avoid giving away usage, raw footage and rush work for free.
- 01
Base video fee
What one finished video costs. The calculator starts from $100 for creators just starting and $450 for creators in demand, adjusted for length and niche.
- 02
Extra hooks
Alternate first three seconds on the same video. Brands test several to find a winner, and each one is real filming and editing work. Priced at about a quarter of the video fee.
- 03
Raw footage
The unedited clips. Brands' editors cut them into new ads, so they're worth more than the files suggest. Commonly 25% or more of the video fee.
- 04
Paid usage rights
Organic use (posting on the brand's own pages) is usually included. Running your video as a paid ad is a licence, priced by duration: 30 days +25%, 3 months +50%, 6 months +75%, 12 months +100%.
- 05
Whitelisting / Spark Ads
The brand runs ads through your account so they show your name. Priced per 30 days because your account is on the line for the whole run.
- 06
Rush fee
Turnaround faster than your normal schedule moves other work. 72 hours, 48 hours and 24 hours each add a percentage on production.

FAQ
UGC pricing questions
How much should a beginner UGC creator charge?
The calculator starts creators with fewer than ten paid videos at $100 for a video up to 30 seconds, with organic use only. Raise it as soon as you have repeat clients or a waiting list.
Should usage rights be included in my base rate?
Price them separately. Organic posting can be included, but paid usage is a licence with a duration. Keeping it separate lets you charge again when a winning ad keeps running.
What's the difference between usage rights and whitelisting?
Usage rights let the brand run your video from their own ad account. Whitelisting (Spark Ads on TikTok) lets them run it from yours, under your name. They're separate line items.
Do follower counts change UGC rates?
Not much. UGC is paid for the content, not distribution. If a brand also wants you to post on your account, quote that as a separate deliverable.
Is this calculator based on market data?
No. It encodes a common UGC pricing structure (base fee, hooks, raw, usage, whitelisting, rush) with sensible starting numbers. Use it to build a consistent rate card, then adjust to your demand.
